WHAT is CHILL?
CHILL is a clinical study testing an experimental medicine. It aims to find out how this medicine affects people living with scleroderma or rheumatoid arthritis, and understand whether it is suitable for further development as a new treatment option.
WHO can take part?
The CHILL study is open to adults aged 18 or over living with certain forms of difficult to treat rheumatoid arthritis or scleroderma. It aims to enrol 4-6 scleroderma participants and 6-10 rheumatoid arthritis participants. Recruitment for the CHILL study will start in early 2026. You must also meet certain requirements, known as eligibility criteria, to take part in the CHILL study. Some key criteria are outlined below, but additional eligibility requirements will need to be assessed by your doctor.
Key Inclusion Criteria
- Diagnosis of difficult to treat rheumatoid arthritis or scleroderma
- Adults aged 18 or over
Key Exclusion Criteria
- Living with a clinical condition that may impact the ability to undergo study procedures
- Living with an active or chronic infection such as HIV, Hepatitis B or active Tuberculosis
- A history of any drug or alcohol misuse in the past 2 years
- Currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Currently taking certain medications that may be prohibited
How LONG is the study?
For people who take part in the study, involvement will last for 12 months. After this, all participants will have their health checked once a year for an additional 14 years.
WHERE is CHILL taking place?
